In addition to service and congregational support activities, plus special events sponsored by the Sunday School (picnics, Halloween party, Christmas Pageant, etc), there are many other opportunities to engage at Christ Church Detroit, both within our community and beyond.

Breakfast Teams

From September to early June, breakfast is served in Ledyard Hall between the services, from 9 – 9:45 am. Four cook teams rotate through the weeks, and they are always happy to have new members join in.

Coffee Hour

Please join us in Ledyard Hall for coffee, a bite to eat, and conversation each Sunday after the 10:30 am service.  If you would like to host a Coffee Hour, sign up in the atrium or let the office know in advance.  Coffee Hour hosts provide their choice of food; the coffee will already be prepared.

Fishing the River

Join Mr. Phil and his fishing buddies to learn the basics of fishing, and then catch some of your own in the Detroit River. It all happens on several (early) Sunday mornings in May and June, and concludes with a festive Father’s Day Fish Fry after the 10:30 am service. Call the office to sign up and get details.

Sunday Outdoor Art Camp

One Sunday in each summer month, CCD joins with artist Sarah Wagner to host an art camp in our parking lot. Weaving… Potato Prints… Inflatables… Indigo Dyeing? Check our calendar to find out what’s up and when. For kids, but depending on the workshop, for adults, too!

Welcome Bags

We have hundreds of neighbors arriving in new housing around us. In cooperation with Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, we have put together welcome bags with a ton of information about the area and some cool items. Call the office to find out our next distribution date.
