Community Chorus of Detroit
The Community Chorus of Detroit is dedicated to serving the Metro Detroit area, with an emphasis on the city of Detroit, by providing opportunities for the enjoyment of musical excellence to a community of both choristers and audience members, richly diverse in every way. The CCD is committed to maintaining the highest levels of artistic and professional integrity through its selection of great music, its leadership and organizational development, its rigorous expectations, and its outreach, while providing an outstanding overall experience for its choristers. In its membership and in all areas of its work, the Community Chorus of Detroit embodies and celebrates diversity, tolerance, and acceptance. Led by Dr. Edward Maki-Schramm, the CCD rehearses and performs at Christ Church Detroit.
Detroit Women’s Chorus
The Detroit Women’s Chorus is for ALL self-identified women, including people who identify outside the gender binary, and anyone who wishes to join their voice in support of human rights, acceptance, and social equality. There are no auditions — all are welcome. Their goal is to create a safe space for all women to express themselves through the choral arts and connect with each other in a way that builds friendship, understanding, and connection within the group and within Metro Detroit.Their vision is to provide an inclusive celebration of the power and beauty of voices in song, and to create community and build unity throughout Metro Detroit. The Detroit Women’s Chorus rehearses and performs at Christ Church Detroit.
