Holy Week and Easter 2026

We shared a lovely potluck supper before our solemn Maundy Thursday service.

Once the altar is stripped on Maundy Thursday, the cross is placed for veneration on Good Friday.

On Holy Saturday, the Floral Guild begins preparations for Easter. Richard gives instructions for the arrangements.

This year’s paschal candle was designed by Sally LePla, and features the angels from this year’s Christmas card.

Sibley House Native Garden

A Hummingbird Clearwing Moth feasting on native milkweed. They get their name from the fact that they can easily be mistaken for hummingbirds.

Juvenile Grasshopper – grasshoppers often get a bad rap, but this little guy was just resting on a dead stalk. The only bugs we DON’T want in this garden are the Praying Mantises, because they eat all the pollinators.

Dragonflies can also predate pollinators, but they also eat a ton of mosquitoes.

Bumblebees are just one of the types of bee we hope will visit the garden.
