Music is key to our life together at Christ Church. Not only do we have a tremendous choir of our own, we’re also the performance home for the Community Chorus of Detroit, the Detroit Women’s Chorus and the Crossroads Project. Candlelight Concerts return to Christ Church

Christ Church is thrilled to be the performance venue for Candlelight Concerts by Fever. Watch for event details in early September!

These concerts feature pop classics and soundtracks from your favorite movies & television series reinterpreted and reinvented by string ensembles. Christ Church is solely illuminated by hundreds of candles (battery operated!), creating a magical, romantic experience. These concerts sell out quickly, so when you find one that appeals to you, don’t wait!

The Tuesday Musicale of Detroit
October 13th

Since 1885, the Tuesday Musicale of Detroit has been promoting classical music in Detroit. Their connections to Christ Church run deep, as the women of the Sibley family were involved in the founding of the society.

Lyyra
November 7th

Lyyra returns to Christ Church! Lyyra is the new all-women vocal ensemble from The VOCES8 Foundation and is based in the USA. Creating world-class musical experiences to inspire audiences, Lyyra seeks to redefine the genre of upper voice music in the choral landscape, highlighting the astonishing capabilities within the full spectrum of women’s singing. The sound of this bright, young group combines velvety richness alongside star-like brilliance. With a broad texture and exhilarating range of sound, the group’s talented members specialize in classical, jazz, pop, and folk music from diverse traditions and backgrounds.

Crossroads: A Detroit Choral Project

Christ Church is honored to be the rehearsal and performance home for the Detroit Women’s Chorus. Their goal is to create a safe space for all women to express themselves through the choral arts and connect with each other in a way that builds friendship, understanding, and connection within the group and within Metro Detroit.

Community Chorus of Detroit
December 11th & 12th

The Community Chorus of Detroit is dedicated to serving the Metro Detroit area, with an emphasis on the city of Detroit, by providing opportunities for the enjoyment of musical excellence to a community of both choristers and audience members, richly diverse in every way. The CCD is committed to maintaining the highest levels of artistic and professional integrity through its selection of great music, its leadership and organizational development, its rigorous expectations, and its outreach, while providing an outstanding overall experience for its choristers. In its membership and in all areas of its work, the Community Chorus of Detroit embodies and celebrates diversity, tolerance, and acceptance. Christ Church is honored to be the rehearsal and performance home for the Community Chorus.
